Pre and Post Rehabilitation

Pre and Post Rehabilitation

The Baby Boomer generation is a fearless, driven, ultra-successful bunch of 50+ year old go-getters who refuse to take life lying down. As a result of this; today's orthopedic surgeons, chiropractors, and physiotherapists are never at a loss for patients. The incidence of chronic knee, hip, lower back, and neck issues has skyrocketed in the last 10 years, and finally the science supporting pre and post rehabilitation has managed to catch up. At Alex Allan Integrated Training we offer one of Toronto's finest pre/post rehabilitation services. Our clients benefit from our individualized and highly sophisticated methods that achieve the perfect balance between safety, chronic pain relief, and optimal results.

Pre-rehabilitation at AAI is: "The process of physically preparing the body prior to surgery with the goal of avoiding post-surgery muscle wasting and severely altered function." Also, Pre-rehabilitation is the process of balancing the body's muscular, neural, and articular systems to avoid chronic injury and reduce wear and tear.

Post-rehabilitation at AAI is: An "Aftercare" Service that is provided exclusively upon referral from a Physical Therapist, Chiropractor, or Physician. Our service is designed to complement the Therapists work after the acute phase of injury is over. At this stage open communication between Dr. or Therapist and our staff is essential. Once dialogue has occurred, the Alex Allan Integrated trainer uses safe and effective techniques with the end goal of restoring optimal function through sophisticated corrective exercise and progressive, integrated training (see Our Philosophy).

Alex Allan has published articles globally, addressing various post rehabilitation and corrective exercise topics as well as having his work referenced as the definitive "go to" article for tennis elbow. Alex has lectured on the topic of Low Back and Pelvic dysfunction at Equinox Fitness in New York City. All trainers at Alex Allan Integrated must be certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), giving them an unparalleled understanding of corrective exercise and a fantastic base for pre/post rehabilitation work. The trainers at Alex Allan Integrated Training have also been fortunate enough to work with some of Toronto's best Physiotherapists, Chiropractors, and Osteopaths; dealing with a number of pain related issues.
